Posters for Behaviour change
Working directly with Kingston Universities Sustainability Hub. We designed a set of four awareness posters. These concepts initiated as part of my research project for KUSubLife. While interviewing students, staff and users of the riverside many complained about appropriate communication design around the riverside. Most users said if we were nudged or reminded with a set of posters this will help keep the natural space clean and help raise awareness of the local biodiversity.
Using an simple grid system and typographic hierarchy, we designed clear messages relating directly to the key issues around the riverside. The idea was to educate and raise awareness about the four key issues, with quick actions points for using appropriate bins.
Soon after putting the posters up, we noticed general cleanliness of the surrounding areas, students were paying attention, also the website and Facebook page started getting much more traffic.
